Many people use the terms “valet” and “detail” interchangeably, but there are some key differences between the two. Understanding them helps you choose the right service for your vehicle.
What Is a Valet?
A valet is a thorough clean of your vehicle — both inside and out. It typically includes washing, drying, interior vacuuming, dashboard wipe-down, and window cleaning. A good valet leaves your car looking clean and fresh, with basic protection applied.
What Is a Detail?
Detailing goes much further. It’s a meticulous, multi-stage process that restores your vehicle to the best possible condition. This can include paint decontamination, machine polishing to remove swirl marks and scratches, ceramic coating, leather conditioning, and deep steam extraction of upholstery.
Which Do You Need?
If your car just needs freshening up, a valet is perfect. If you want to restore faded paint, remove scratches, or prepare a vehicle for sale, you need a detail. At C&M, we offer both — from our Regular Valet (from £55) right up to our Deep Clean + Paint Enhancement (from £320).
